About this work

Vase (rolwagen) of porcelain with a cylindrical body and flaring neck, painted in underglaze blue. On the body, in a landscape, a warrior before his tent, surrounded by his retinue. A servant leads his horse to him. In the landscape, rocks and banana trees. On the neck, a band with hanging, pointed leaf motifs. The shoulder with a band of engraved vines; around the foot, a band of engraved hatching. The base is unglazed. Some chips in the rim; a firing crack in the base. Transitional porcelain in blue and white.
