Square bottle with narrative scenes of warriors in a landscape

Square bottle of porcelain, painted in underglaze blue. On the walls elongated cartouches with at the top cornered corners with therein various battle scenes: warriors in a landscape fighting on horseback, or warriors on a terrace standing before a table behind which sitting magistrates. These are various scenes from <Romans over de generaals uit de familie Yang> (<Yangjia jiang yanyi>), a collection of Chinese folklore and plays. Around the cartouches a band with hatching. On the shoulder a band with a swastika pattern and on the neck four times a flowering plant. Marked on the underside with an artemisia leaf. Blue and white.
