About this work

Pear-shaped lidded jar on a foot of porcelain with two handles, the tops of which are modelled as monster heads, painted in underglaze blue. On the body large lotus flowers and flowering branches, between which a lobed cartouche with scrolls, books and two overlapping fan-shaped compartments, one with a man on a terrace with a pavilion and flowering branches; the foot with a zig-zag pattern; the rim with floral scrolls. Blue and white.
