On the front, a portrait of a man, Daniel Raap, porcelain dealer from Amsterdam, seated at a table with books and writing materials, a blue cabinet with books to the right, a lattice window with a white curtain to the left; in front of the table a scroll with the inscription: 'This sketch depicts Mr. Raap who practices civic duty/ For whom the golden stream of greed must flow away/ Violence and tyranny of her hidden fears/ Liberty at its highest: next to her Prince Friso'; on the inner rim a scalloped gold band; the back with a second inscription: 'To the joy of Mr. Daniel Raap, the forty-eighth birthday; This image is offered by Elias Colier.
