About this work
Rectangular notebook with a hinge at the bottom and a lock at the top, both of silver. The notebook opens like a fan and contains five thin, flat leaves, between a front and back cover decorated with carving. On the outside, in relief, depictions of Chinese people at pavilions and trees. The left long side is pierced and holds a (no longer present) graphite pencil.
