About this work

Porcelain plate, painted in underglaze blue. On the flat a bird on a rock among flowering plants and a butterfly; the wall and rim alternating with leafy shell motifs including a mask with vines and a medallion with flower branches including a ruyi motif; on the wall and rim the coat of arms of the Pelgrom family surrounded by acanthus leaves; the crest, a Chinese man, rising from a lotus flower. The reverse with three precious objects (books, mugwort leaf, music stone). Marked on the underside with two fish in a double circle. Coat of arms porcelain in blue and white.
