About this work

Haori for a man with a decoration on the lining of the luck gods Ebisu and Daikoku, standing and sitting in a flat-bottomed boat while harvesting seaweed; in the background a square cartouche with a white-line drawing of their vehicle, the Treasure Ship; images of treasures scattered around with the text 'Akinai wa mo kari fune ya takarabune' ('Business went well with the ship - a Treasure Ship'). Black shiny silk (habutae) with stenciled yuzen decoration. Five family crests (mon) of three folding fans (ogi).
