About this work

Kimono for a boy with decoration over the entire surface of circular shapes containing: a dog and a boy with Japanese and English flags, the English crown and sceptre, and a Fokker VIIb-3m aircraft with KNILM on the wing; against a background of blue and grey horizontal bands, alternating with images of a sailing passenger ship and a view of Mount Fuji. The whole likely refers to the coronation of King George VI of England in 1937. Rayon (jinken) with stenciled yuzen decoration. Lining of cotton.
