About this work

Porcelain bowl with petal-shaped compartments modelled in the wall and scalloped rim, painted in underglaze blue. Around the foot a band of petal-shaped compartments with alternating a flower branch and flower with tendrils, above them the Eight Taoist Immortals; on the base a seated man; the inner rim with ruyi motif and scrollwork. Marked on the underside of the bowl with the six-character mark of Emperor Chenghua. Blue-and-white.
