About this work

Plate of porcelain with a keyhole-shaped rim, painted in underglaze blue. On the flat surface two large plants with birds and insects beside a rock. On the wall a band with petal-shaped compartments with flowering plants against a background of lacework. On the rim the same band. The outer rim with six flower scrolls. The outer wall with ruyi motifs separated by a vertical line. Marked on the underside with the six-character mark of Emperor Chenghua in a double circle. Blue and white.
