About this work

Bowl of porcelain with flared walls, painted in underglaze blue. The wall is modelled in eight compartments filled with a flower pot above a stylised lotus scroll; on the base a flower pot; the rim with a decorative band of butterflies on a ground of circles with dots alternated with cartouches with flower scroll. Marked on the underside with the six-character Chenghua mark in a double circle. Blue and white.
