About this work

Baluster-shaped ewer of porcelain with wide neck, painted in underglaze blue. The body and neck are covered with stylised chrysanthemum scrolls in which the 'shou' character is incorporated; between the scrolls eight lobed cartouches with precious objects (ruby, pearl, music stone, books) and antiquities (vase with peacock feathers, books, incense burner, objects of a scholar). Blue and white.
