About this work

Porcelain plate, painted in underglaze blue and overglaze red and gold. On the flat surface and wall within a medallion a woman on a bridge, behind her a servant holding an umbrella. In the background a river landscape with boats, on the bank pavilions, people, and trees. The rim with a honeycomb pattern filled with flowers. The reverse with six flower branches (prunus). Seven thick feet on the underside. Imari.
