About this work

Baluster-shaped lidded jar of porcelain with lid knob in the form of a lion, painted in underglaze blue. The wall is covered with a geometric pattern in which two cartouches with two persons in an enclosed garden; around the foot a band with fruit branches; around the shoulder a band with napkin work alternated with fan-shaped compartments with landscape or flower branch; the neck with flower branches. The lid with the same pattern as on the wall of the jar. Marked on the underside with the four-character mark of Emperor Kangxi. Two cracks in the neck and rim. Blue and white.
