About this work

Baluster-shaped lidded jar of porcelain, painted in underglaze blue. The wall is covered with a geometric pattern containing two cartouches with two figures in an enclosed garden; around the foot, a band with fruit branches; around the shoulder, a band with swag work alternating with fan-shaped compartments with landscapes or floral branches; the neck with floral branches. Marked on the underside with the four-character mark of Emperor Kangxi. Two cracks in the neck and rim. Blue-and-white.
