Ewer with flower sprays and spout shaped like a feng huang

Porcelain vase with molded walls, a flaring neck with a turned-back, ribbed rim and spout in the form of a feng huang. Painted on the glaze in red, green, yellow, aubergine and black. The body is divided into four large compartments with flower branches (lotus, peony, prunus, chrysanthemum) and six smaller compartments with geometric pattern or reticulated work; on the shoulder loose flowers against a black-speckled green ground; the lower part of the neck with the four flower branches in compartments, above that, separated by a meander band, four compartments with reticulated work; the rim with flower scrolls; on the foot a band with lotus branches in compartments; above the foot a band with molded lotus leaves. Old label on the underside with 'A. Staal Antiquaire Rokin 156 Amsterdam/ 6910/ 974009'. Lid missing. Famille verte.
