About this work

Porcelain plate, painted on the glaze in blue, red, green, black and gold. On the flat the coat of arms of Zeeland, with the inscription 'zeelandt', with on either side a floral branch with a bird, above the coat of arms two insects and below the coat of arms a floral branch; the body and rim are divided into twelve petal-shaped compartments alternately filled with a seated man in a landscape, a standing woman in a landscape or flower vases; the rim with lacework. Decoration probably of later date. Armorial porcelain with enamel colors.
