Covered jar with figures, flower sprays and auspicious symbols in shaped panels on a multi-colored ground

Lidded pot of porcelain with baluster-shaped body and ribbed wall, painted on the glaze in blue, red, pink, green, yellow, purple, black and gold. On the wall cartouches against a multi-colored background of vertical bands (harlequin pattern); two cartouches in the form of open scrolls with a woman (long dress) with boy (clown) in an enclosed garden with flowering plants, below two leaf-shaped cartouches with peony branch and butterfly, on both sides of the large compartments a smaller pomegranate- and finger-lime-shaped compartment with luck symbols; on the neck a band with flower scrolls. The lid with the same decoration. On the underside an old label with 'S.K. 21'. Lid is restored. Part of a five-part cabinet set. Famille rose.
