About this work

Porcelain plate with a round, spreading wall, painted in underglaze blue and overglaze blue, red, green, yellow, aubergine, and black. On the flat surface rocks with blooming peony sprigs and two feng huangs, other birds, and insects; the rim with a geometric pattern alternating with symbols of good fortune (castanets, scepter, book scrolls, music stone, artemisia leaf) in cartouches. The underside with three flower sprigs. Marked with a seal mark in a double circle. Four chips in the rim. Famille verte.
