About this work

Baluster-shaped lidded pot of porcelain, painted on the glaze in blue, red, green, yellow, aubergine, black and gold. On the belly four times a flower basket with among others aster, peony, prunus, wisteria, lotus, chrysanthemum and iris. One basket with shishi and ruyi motifs and one basket with feng huangs and Chinese characters. Between the baskets loose flower branches and insects. Above the foot a band with stylized leaf motifs. On the shoulder a band with hatching. The neck with flower branches and butterflies. The lid with peony branches, butterflies and a band with hatching on the rim, The round lid knob with a stylized flower. A crack in the rim of the pot; some chips in the rim of the lid. Famille verte.
