About this work

Baluster-shaped lidded pot of porcelain, painted on the glaze in blue, red, green, yellow, aubergine, black and gold. On the body four flower baskets with, among others, aster, peony, prunus, wisteria, lotus, chrysanthemum and iris. One basket with shishi and ruyi motifs and one basket with feng huangs and Chinese characters. Between the baskets loose flower branches and insects. Above the foot a band with stylised leaf motifs. On the shoulder a band with hatching. The neck with flower branches and butterflies. A crack in the rim of the pot. Famille verte.
