About this work

Baluster-shaped lidded jar with a long, spreading neck, painted in underglaze blue and with gold on the glaze. The jar is covered with bleu poudré (powdered blue) and decorated with three rows of compartments: the bottom row has in each compartment a different flowering plant or tree by a rock with insects; the second row also with four different flowering plants (lotus, chrysanthemum, prunus, peony) with birds and/or butterflies. Around the neck, four compartments with different floral branches and butterflies; a double circle on the underside. Bleu poudré with gold.
