About this work
Porcelain plate, painted in underglaze blue and in red, green, black and gold on the glaze. On the flat, the Van Buren family coat of arms with a greyhound on the left against a gold background and on the right two times seven gold rectangles on a red background. The crest is a greyhound with wings surrounded by acanthus leaves. The wall with lacework with a stylized flower, interrupted by cartouches with a landscape or a flower vase. The rim with a band with tassels and a band with leaves on lacework. Four firing flaws on the underside. A crack in the wall. Armorial porcelain in Imari. Arita.
