About this work
Porcelain tea caddy with four lobed sides and rim and four short feet, painted on the glaze in blue, red, pink, green, yellow, black and gold. On the outer wall a crowned, illegible monogram surrounded by two flower sprays; between the monograms flower scrolls with a cut-out cartouche containing a landscape and four medallions with plants. On the shoulder a band with flower scrolls. The lid knob in the form of a shishi (lion dog); on the lid flower scrolls and cartouches with landscapes or flower sprays. A firing crack in the rim. European subject in enamel colours.
