About this work
After the death of Phaëthon, the sun god wraps himself in mourning and refuses to drive in the chariot again. The gods, including Jupiter, ask him to drive his chariot along the sky again. On the left stands Hercules with a club and a lion's skin. Below the image, two times two lines of verse in Latin. The print is part of an album.
