About this work
Mars and Venus lying together in bed. Helios or Apollo, appearing on a cloud at the foot of the bed, points an accusing finger at them. The other gods, including Neptune and Mercury, stand behind him. On the right stands Vulcanus, who has trapped his wife and lover in the bed with a very fine net. Below the scene, two times two lines of Latin verse. The print is part of an album.
