About this work

Following the Battle of the Granicus, Alexander the Great had copper statues of soldiers made by the sculptor Lysippos to commemorate the soldiers who fell in battle. Alexander the Great stands to the right of the center; in the foreground, one of the copper statues is presented to him. In the background stand the remaining statues. Numbered 20 in the upper right. Drawing forms part of an album.
