About this work
Two epitaphs or tomb monuments to be placed against a wall. The epitaph on the left shows a kneeling man flanked by two putti with a shield and a spear with a pennant. Behind his back an architectural scrollwork structure containing a round cartouche with a coat of arms. The right epitaph has the portrait of a recumbent man in a state of decay (gisant). Behind it an architectural scrollwork structure with a representation of Christ with the cross, surrounded by angels. In the lower margin two lines of text in Latin. The print is part of an album.
