About this work
Landscape with a river in a valley. To the left, Abraham and Isaac are on the mountain where Isaac is to be sacrificed. Isaac carries the wood for the altar fire. At the top of the mountain, Abraham raises his knife to sacrifice his son, but an angel stops him. Next to Abraham stands the ram that is sacrificed instead of Isaac (Gen. 22:10). At the foot of the mountain, two men with shepherd's crooks look on. With a Latin motto above the image and a four-line Latin inscription below the print. The print is part of an album.
