About this work
Landscape with a sea view and the parable of the Wise and Foolish Virgins. Ten girls set out to meet the bridegroom. After they had slept, five wise virgins had extra oil to light their lamps. In the foreground, they arrive at the bridegroom. Five foolish virgins had to fetch oil first and came to a closed door (Matt. 25). With a motto in Latin above the scene and a four-line inscription in Latin below the print. The print is part of an album.
