About this work
Landscape with a seascape and the parable of the wise and foolish virgins. Ten girls had set out to meet the bridegroom. After they had fallen asleep, five wise virgins had extra oil to light their lamps. In the foreground they arrive at the bridegroom. Five foolish virgins had to fetch oil first and found themselves before a closed door (Matt. 25). The print is part of an album.
