About this work
King Josiah sits on his throne under a canopy, surrounded by members of his court. Next to him, his court scribe Safia reads from the law book on a lectern. Upon hearing Safia's words, the king tears his robe (2 Kings 22:11). To the right, another part of the palace and a wall with two gates. In the distance, a dome. The print is part of an album.
