About this work
A crowned Jupiter with an eagle at his feet sits beside Io, whom he has transformed into a cow to hide his adultery from Juno. Juno sits on or beside the cloud-enshrouded cow and makes a hand gesture. Behind her, two peacocks. Sheet 32 recto from a sketchbook with 63 sheets.
