About this work

Capture of Valenciennes, 24 March. The city is recaptured from the Calvinists by the Lord of Noircarmes. View from the positions of Noircarmes' army, from which the city is bombarded with cannons. From the city, the inhabitants come out of the gate to welcome Noircarmes. Center bottom, a cartouche with the title and legend A-I in French, with pilasters on either side.
