About this work
Two children. On the left, a boy beating a drum. According to the accompanying text, he wears a hat of straw, trimmed with a rosette and a blue ribbon. His shirt has a collar. Vest of 'carmélite' satin with short sleeves. Waistcoat of pink satin, blue sash as a belt, trousers of pink satin 'à la marinière', white stockings of satin or cotton, shoes with rosettes of blue ribbon. On the right, a girl holding a rose. Half-long hair with a blue ribbon. The shirt is trimmed with a collar. Bodice and skirt are of pink taffeta, underneath a white muslin petticoat, edged at the hem with two blue bands. Black belt with silver buckle.
