According to the accompanying text (pp. 324 and 325): 'Figure 1. 'Chapeau à la provencale' decorated with flowers, tied under the chin with a white ribbon. Pearl earrings. Japon of white muslin, trimmed with palmettes. Figure 2. Japon of white muslin, with an embroidered hem. Long Spanish mantle of linen or muslin, lined with natural-colored silk and trimmed with white lace. The mantle must have sleeves. Hairstyle with a wreath of small flowers. The print is part of the fashion magazine Journal des Dames et des Modes, published in Frankfurt as a copy of the French edition by Pierre de la Mésangère, (1798-1848).
