About this work
A soldier, full-length, facing right, holding a musket (a specific type of firearm) with his left hand by his left thigh and bringing his right hand to the end of his ramrod, which he rests against his right side (no. 25), ca. 1600. Plate 25 from the instructions for handling the musket: Corte onderwysinghe op de figuerliicke afbeeldinghe, belanghende t'rechte ghebruyck des Roers.
