About this work
A soldier, full-length, facing right, holding a musket (a certain type of firearm) with his left hand (no. 13), ca. 1600. With his right hand he detaches the burning match lying on the cock (part of the ignition mechanism) of his musket. Plate 13 in the instructions for handling the musket.
