About this work

A soldier, full-length, facing right, holding a musket (a specific type of firearm) with his left hand by his left thigh and with his right hand withdrawing the ramrod from the barrel (no. 27), ca. 1600. Plate 27 from the instructions for handling the musket: Corte onderwysinghe op de figuerliicke afbeeldinghe, belanghende t'rechte ghebruyck des Roers.
