A soldier, full-length, facing right, holding a musket (a specific type of firearm) with his left hand at his right side (no. 4), ca. 1600. In his left hand, besides the musket, a burning match. His right hand loosely on the trigger of the musket. Plate 4 in the instructions for handling the musket: Corte onderwysinghe op de figuerliicke afbeeldinghe, belanghende t'rechte ghebruyck des Roers.
