About this work
A soldier, full-length, facing right, holding a musket (a certain type of firearm) with his left hand at his right side (no. 4), ca. 1600. In his left hand, besides the musket, also a burning match. His right hand loosely on the trigger of the musket. Plate 4 in the instructions for handling the musket.
