A soldier, full-length, facing right, thrusting his pike forward by moving his right hand from the point to the butt of the weapon (no. 23), ca. 1600. Plate 23 in the instructions for handling the pike: Corte onderwysinghe op de figuerliicke afbeeldinghe belanghende trechte gebruck, van alle t'ghene een Soldaet int handelen vande Spies noodich is.
