A soldier, full-length, facing right, thrusting his spear (lance) forward by moving his right hand from the point to the base of the weapon (no. 23), ca. 1600. Plate 23 in the instructions for handling the spear: Corte onderwysinghe op de figuerliicke afbeeldinghe, belanghende t'recht ghebruyck, van al t'ghene een Soldaet int handelen vande Spies noodich is.
