About this work
A soldier, full-length, facing right, holding a musket (a specific type of firearm) and a fork (musket fork) with his left hand (no. 15), ca. 1600. He brings the lit match in his right hand over to his left hand. Plate 15 in the instructions for handling the musket: Brief enseignement, sur les pourtraitz figurez, touchant le droit maniement du Mousquet.
