A soldier, full-length, facing right, holding a musket (a specific type of firearm) with his left hand near his left thigh and bringing his right hand to the end of his ramrod, which he rests against his right side (no. 26), ca. 1600. In his left hand, besides the musket, a slow match; on his left wrist a fork (musket fork). Plate 26 in the instructions for handling the musket: Brief enseignement, sur les pourtraitz figurez, touchant le droit maniement du Mousquet.
