About this work

Title page with the Actiekraam or the Forecourt of Quinquenpoix. In the central representation a man kneels with a love declaration to a woman who rejects him (according to the text: John Law and Schoonschijn), in the frame cupids and quivers. With two lines in the caption. This plate is printed in the middle of a larger plate with a wreath built up from all kinds of objects related to the wind trade. At the bottom sit Mercury and Neptune. In the plate a caption with two verses. Title page in the bound first edition (304 B 10) of Het Groote Tafereel der Dwaasheid with caricatures on the Wind Trade or Stock Trade of 1720.
