About this work

Title print of the Actiekraam or the Forecourt of Quinquenpoix. In the central scene, a man kneels with a love declaration to a woman who rejects him (according to the text: John Law and Schoonschijn), in the frame cupids and quivers. With two lines in the caption. This plate is printed in the middle of a larger plate with a wreath built up from various objects related to the wind trade. At the bottom sit Mercury and Neptune. In the plate a caption with two verses. Print 49 in the series Het Groote Tafereel der Dwaasheid with satirical prints on the Wind Trade or Share Trading of 1720.
