About this work
The fair stall of the share traders. A large cart pulled by two toads and driven by Deceit, on which ride Bombario (with a hunchback) in harlequin costume, the devil with a bellows, and a jester surrendering shares. Around the cart and at the coffee house Quincampoix, a large crowd of share traders in panic. Right: a gate with the coats of arms of Haarlem, Amsterdam, and Leiden, to which the cart is denied entry. In the caption, a four-column verse by Philadelphus. Print in the bound fourth edition (304 B 12) of *Het Groote Tafereel der Dwaasheid* with satirical prints on the Wind Trade or Share Trade of 1720.
