Monument commemorating the folly of the year 1720. On a large cart driven by a jester, Fortune of the Shares scatters shares. The cart is pulled by personifications of the South Sea and Mississippi companies, among others. The cart is led by Fame towards the almshouse and madhouse. Around the cart, traders and victims. On the right in the background, the Quincampoix coffee house. At the bottom, the emblem with the motto Schijn Bedriegt (Appearance Deceives) in Latin. In the caption, the explanation of the scene in French and Dutch. Print in the bound first edition (304 B 11) of Het Groote Tafereel der Dwaasheid with satirical prints on the Wind Trade or Share Trading of 1720.
