About this work

The Little Man Hans van Groten hoven Baron van Krulhaar, in gala with a large wig. Verses in German, French, and Dutch in the caption. Numbered right center: 18. Print within a decorative border, printed from a separate plate with Chinese little people, at the bottom a smoking little man with an opium pipe. Part of the second Dutch bound edition of 1720 (and related to the Windhandel in that year) of a series of caricatures of little people, known as Het Dwergentooneel, partly copied from an older German model.
